About Georgia Urban Forest Council
The Georgia Urban Forest Council (GUFC) is a nonprofit organization that promotes the benefits of community forests and the importance of managing and protecting Georgia’s tree canopy. Its mission is to sustain Georgia's green legacy by helping communities grow healthy trees.
Additionally, it encourages citizens to take a proactive role in planting trees and protecting Georgia’s green legacy to ensure future generations will enjoy the benefits of living in healthy urban forests. GUFC provides opportunities for citizens to get involved by organizing various tree-related programs, including tree care workshops, educational quarterly meetings, an annual conference, an annual awards program, the Landmark and Historic Tree Registry, TreeTalks newsletter and more.
