The Grove Florida is part of The Grove, a Web site and online community created to engage and encourage citizens to plant trees and protect the urban tree canopy. The Grove in your state is sponsored by the Florida Urban Forestry Council and the Florida Forest Service.
Well-managed trees are a vital part of the urban environment, enhancing the quality of life in our cities, towns and communities. They contribute aesthetic, ecological, economic and social values to their surrounding environment. Individual citizens, families and small groups have the greatest potential to increase their community’s tree canopy, since most community trees are located either on residential properties or in nearby common or natural areas.
The Grove provides an opportunity to let others know about the trees you have planted and the special meaning those trees have for you.
Why Join the Grove? Inside The Grove, you have the ability to set up a profile, create photo “groves” of trees you have planted to commemorate special events, and join tree groups that create change in your community. Make sure you join the Florida group once you create your profile.
Carry the spirit of the Grove into your everyday life. Plant trees to remember special occasions; plant trees to watch them grow; and plant trees to make the world around you a better place.
